DFA Partners presents STANZE SOSPESE
April 22, 2018
STANZESOSPESE was born thanks to an idea of the architects Daniele Fiori, founder of DFA PARTNERS, and Giovanna Giannattasio who, together with the architect Franco Raggi, acted as tutor to some young designers of the Domus Academy involved in the project. An initiative designed specifically for those who find themselves living in prison in constrictive conditions. After receiving a brief from the Opera penitentiary, the project reformulated the internal livability of a cell thanks to innovative design solutions in recycled plastic, thus making the prison spaces more practical, dignified and functional.
On 12 October 2018, in the presence of some prisoners, the prototype of a 9 square meter pilot cell for two people was presented, completely redesigned in the furnishings by the Stanze Sospese working group, starting from the idea that the reintegration of the individual with the outside world can also pass through simple environments.
